Home Back Cooperation between libraries and lifelong learning organizations
for successful dissemination of Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) projects

Benefits of cooperation

Benefits for libraries

Dissemination of LLP results as a tool for improving the image of libraries as centers for developing and sharing knowledge; for providing new services for library users; for strengthening the role of library as a significant player in education process; for offering opportunities for library staff to acquire  new skills (library human resources); for fostering new fundraising opportunities and active support of local community. Last but not least, it creates new partnerships for libraries.

The public library as a community center should always be focused on community needs. Partnership and cooperation with lifelong learning organizations should meet the needs in the field of the LLP process. All services are intended to be free of charge. On the other hand, introducing new services means bringing new, unreached patrons to the library, as one of the main goals of a public library is to serve as many citizens of all ages as possible. Dissemination of LLP results serves to enhance the visibility of the public library in community. Library patrons, through LLP activities, are improving their knowledge and skills and so they are increasing their demand for new library material and versatile sources of information. Active communication with patrons and potential members through different channels, including dissemination of LLP results, will help build a library network that can, in turn, build a better community.

Benefits for organizations implementing LLP projects

Using the contacts and resources of a library community means larger impact on the project target groups and beneficiaries, enlarging networks, new partnerships, raising awareness concerning other activities of the LLP organizations, presentation of the LLP organizations to new target groups, more effective and larger sustainability of the project implemented by LLP organization .
