Home Back Cooperation between libraries and lifelong learning organizations
for successful dissemination of Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) projects

Establishing a partnership

We expect that the first step for cooperation more often will make the LLP organizations. Libraries are open to cooperate and are willing to participate in dissemination activities and to transfer information given to them to users of library services.  Partnerships (will follow the customs of the library, LLP, country):

  • Establishing the role of the library in dissemination
  • Forming a team within the library with specific tasks
  • Accepting and understanding of the Dissemination Model
  • Formal partnership with written contracts
  • Informal partnership (established on good will of both sides)
  • Paid partnership
  • Unpaid partnership
  • Specifications of partnership (language of LLP results, duration of partnership, tools, kinds of LLP results and target groups)

However, it is possible also that the first step of cooperation is taken by the libraries. In this case, the steps that will be followed include:

  1. Libraries identify fields of interest compatible with LLPs
  2. Libraries use databases to identify project results interesting to them
  3. Libraries make contacts with implementing organisations
  4. Terms of cooperation are negotiated

Agreement on mutual action

It is necessary to reach agreement on all actions, to have an agreement on time schedules, communication rules, all responsibilities and steps in dissemination, rules and tools of cooperation between a library and an LLP organization, regular monitoring and reporting, and final evaluation.
