Implementation of good practice

From Work Package 2: Needs Analysis Report (see in the Annex 1) we can see, that only 35% of respondents haveseenanyinformationaboutlifelonglearningprojectsandtheir resultsinlibraryspace andlibrarywebsites, and about 31% have not. Rest of them have seen them only partly – as a part of some kind of implementation or courses, or do not visit libraries at all. Sedukon has concluded, that there is a space for implementation of LLP projects website banners. Libraries can benefit from project dissemination at their websites by obtaining a wider range of information services. Thus, Sedukon has tested thematic LLP project banners in cooperation with National Library of Technology.

In NLT, Sedukon promoted Di-XL project. Once library agreed, Sedukon asked library to set the banner in the library website. Right now, there is one banner at National Library of Technology website (http://www.techlib.cz/cs/2985-di-xl). Any project can be promoted via banner placed on the libraries websites. DiXL project Partners decided that promoting the projects websites via banners which are placed on the libraries websites could be powerfull and usefull dissemination tool.

Impact

By implementing LLP projects banners on their websites, libraries can expand their clients interest, also libraries can use disseminated projects as a part of their activities, like implementing these into their learning courses or workshops is. It can take some time to negotiate any banner to be put on the library website, but it is worth it. We recommend this good practise for other partners as well, for internet is one of the most influential dissemination tool and many people order their books via library website, where banner is to be placed.

Question No 3: Have you seen any information about lifelong learning projects and their results in library space and library websites? (807 answers)

The number of respondents who have noticed information about LLP and their results in library space (physical and / or virtual) and who have not seen such an information are almost equal. It means that although libraries are part of lifelong learning and take a part in lifelong learning activities, not always librarians spread information about that.
