Actors and target groups

Table of contents

Actors (partners and all their relationships, description of the environment of disseminating LLP results)

In an LLP project, the following actors have different but key roles in the project implementation:

Actor

Role

Final Beneficiaries

The main target group of the project. The persons who are going to benefit from the results of the project.

Project Partners

The people who are responsible for the implementation of the project and the development of the project results.

Associated Partners

Partners that are not participating directly in the participation of the project results but contribute with their expertise on a great number of project activities, such as dissemination, piloting, evaluation, etc.

Stakeholders

Target groups which are not directly beneficiaries of the results of the project but are key organisations which can contribute to the increase of the impact of the project such as local authorities, decision makers, policy makers.

Wide Public

The wider community of people that are not target groups of the project but represent the local, regional, national and European community.

Dissemination Channels

Institutions/organisations that are able to contribute to the maximisation of the dissemination reach of the project. Libraries are included in this category.

The dissemination of the results and outputs of each project is differentiated according to the different stakeholders. The main target group which gets priority for the dissemination of the results in each LLP project is the final beneficiaries, the group of people that is going to benefit from the project results. Different dissemination methods can be used in order to reach the target group which depend a lot on the specific target group that is targeted. Therefore, dissemination methods are differentiated depending on if the final beneficiaries are immigrants, Roma, employers, managers, universities, students, workers in a specific field, teachers, etc. However, it is very important to identify the dissemination channels which are appropriate for each target group.

The stakeholders are another main target for dissemination activities. Each project needs the support from key stakeholders in order to reach a wide target group and ensure its sustainability. Stakeholders may include local, regional, national and transnational policy makers and authorities, umbrella organisations able to mainstream information, funding bodies, networks, etc. Again, the dissemination methods vary according to the differnet stakeholders.

Finally, the general public is an important target for dissemination of the project because it raises the awareness of the project and its impact among the community. The general public can be reached through general dissemination methods such as publications in the media, etc.

Actors in the model of cooperation

On the side of Libraries there is a description of their possibilities, knowhow and resources (facilities, communication channels). On the side of LLP organizations there are presented results of LLP, their knowhow and resources. LLP organizations initiate and coordinate cooperation with libraries according to dissemination LLP Model.

The model takes into account libraries in general, but of course it depends on the profile of each library and LLP organization and their specific possibilities and needs. The model is a recommendation and the most important is mutual cooperation between library and LLP organization.
